 IO: What prompted you to tap into your inner zef and transition from the Max Normal into the Ninja?
DA: I used to smoke a lot of weed and I was fuckin confused and I just thought of lame concepts the whole time.
Then I stopped smoking weed after I watched Twin Peaks. Special Agent Dale Cooper is my hero. He helped me to become the Ninja.

IO: What troubles have you faced as a group?
DA: We didn't have any nice clothes to wear on our trip to LA / NYC next week. So I phoned my homeboy Brett, the big boss of PUMA S.A. and I asked him if he could hook up a cook up.
Brett said "No problem", so we back on track again.

IO: How do you see the South African music scene evolving, and how are you going to be the ones to take it to the next level?
DI: Die Antwoord is not part of any scene or system. Die Antwoord says: Fuck the system, make your own system.

IO: How do you suggest we get in touch with our inner zef?
DA: Don't worry about what other people think.

IO: Ninja, when did you get the fairy forest tattoo, and how many others do you have?
DA: I got it when I was 14. I have a lot, I don't feel like counting them all now, it takes too long.

IO: Will you be making a stop in New York on your US tour?
DA: Yes we flying from LA to NYC, business class. They say you even get a hot white towel to wipe your bum with.

IO: If you could endorse any product, what would it be?
DA: DISCTRICT 9 action figures! I really want a Wickus van de Merwe toy that comes inside an alien mech!
